The Opioid Crisis and Addiction in Shasta County

Shasta County District Attorney’s Office and Shasta County Board of Supervisors are presenting a FREE event: Opioid Crisis and Addiction: Stopping the Cycle in Shasta County on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. at Mercy Oaks, 100 Mercy Oaks Drive, Redding, CA

This community-wide event will have a keynote talk by award-winning journalist and author of Dreamland Sam Quinones, addressing the public safety and public health crisis facing our community today.

  • Explore next steps for our community
  • Resource tables from our local agencies and service providers

  • Parents & grandparents
  • Educators
  • Teens
  • Community members
  • Law enforcement
  • Healthcare professionals

There will be a pre-event mixer at 5:30 p.m., where you can meet author Sam Quinones as well as other community leaders with an interest in facilitating change in our community. Tickets for the pre-event mixer are $30 (including a signed copy of the book Dreamland).

The event is in partnership with Shasta County Board of Supervisors, Right Road, Hill Country Clinic, Aegis, Prather Ranch, Shasta County Health and Human Services Agency, Empire Recovery Center, Dignity Health, and many others. Partial funding for this event is provided by a SPF Partnership for Success grant.
