Infectious Rhythms

North State Symphony is presenting their second Masterworks Concert on November 12, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cascade Theatre, Redding, CA.

The November concert is a rhythmic frenzy that starts with images of a Roman carnival and then features violinist Chloé Trevor on a new concerto by Redding’s own Dan Pinkston. Chloé will then dazzle us with Ravel’s showpiece Tzigane. The suite from Igor Stravinsky’s first ballet, Firebird , closes the concert with one of the most colorful and exuberant endings of early Twentieth Century music.

The Butte MTAC Youth Orchestra and the Shasta College Chamber Strings also join the NSS in Moncayo’s Huapango.

Symphony ticketholders are invited to join Scott one hour before our Masterworks concert for a talk highlighting themes, inspirations, and historical context of the music on the concert program. Scott augments his lively talk with audio and video clips, and will be joined by violin soloist Chloé Trevor!
