Films for the Planet

Films for the Planet is extending a welcome invitation for you to join the PEACE RISING: Streaming Film Series, September 9-24, 2017. Beautifully-produced, award-winning films will be featured on Films for the Planet exclusively for 15 days during Peace Month.

Exceptional documentaries include:

  • A Voice4Peace – This film offers a rare glimpse at the vibrant musical culture of Kenya and illustrates the contribution of three musicians who are using music – humanity’s universal language – to bring about peace around the world.
  • One Day on Earth – This is the first film made in every country of the world on the same day. We see both the challenges & hopes of humanity from a diverse group of volunteer filmmakers assembled by a participatory media experiment.
  • PLANETARY – We  have forgotten the undeniable truth that everything is connected. PLANETARY is a provocative and breathtaking wake-up call, a cross continental, cinematic journey, that explores our cosmic origins and our future as a species. PLANETARY is a poetic and humbling reminder that it’s time to shift our perspective.
  • A Quest for Meaning – This is a story of an impromptu road-trip undertaken by two childhood friends. This film reveals the profound aspirations of a whole generation in search of wisdom and common sense… through the words of activists, biologists, philosophers, or guardians of ancestral traditions. This film captures the change in human consciousness currently happening all over the planet, and the desire to live in harmony with oneself and the world. FREE starting September 18, 2017.
  • World Peace and Other Fourth-Grade Achievements – A documentary on John Hunter, a teacher in Charlottesville, Virginia and his students as they participate in Hunter’s remarkable educational exercise the World Peace Game.
  • Rooted in Peace – On September 21, 2017, International Day of Peace, this multi-award-winning documentary will be streamed for FREE – offering a unique opportunity to experience this film on the day of its theatrical release with Landmark Theaters in over 80 US cities. Click here to watch the trailer for Rooted in Peace.
  • The Neuroscience of Peace – Tapping into our Hearts’ Intelligence – Join a live conversation scheduled for September 23, 2017 from 9 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. PDT with Rollin McCraty Ph.D., founder of the Global Coherence Initiative (GCI).

Virtual theater attendees can access the program anytime and will be emailed timely reminders of the film viewings in addition to value added learning resources and take action opportunities for those wishing to explore topics further.

Globally-synchronized activities focused on peace and compassionate action will culminate with an annual global-synchronized meditation on September 24, 2017 during Peace Weekend, through World Peace and Global Unity.

This year promises to be an unprecedented opportunity to unite our hearts’ collective capacity for creating and amplifying global good.
