50/50Day

May 10, 2017 is 50/50 Day in all 50 states and in 60+ countries, with 10,000+  events and one film with millions of perspectives on one topic #GettingTo5050 in gender equality.

Join thousands of organizations, companies, schools, museums, libraries and homes — anywhere people already gather — in a global conversation about what it will take to get to a more gender-balanced world in all sectors of society: business, politics, culture, home, and more.

Here’s what you can do to participate:

1. Watch the 20 minute film 50/50, directed by Emmy-nominated filmmaker Tiffany Shlain, that explores the 10,000 year history of women + power — from setbacks and uprisings, to the bigger context of where we are today. Stream the film here, or download HiRes16GB or LoRes2GB. Read more about the film here.

2. Dive into discussion materials online and printable materials.

3. Join the Global LiveCast Q&A. Watch, engage, and ask questions through 18 hours of live programming including over 25 Q&A interviews with prominent leaders talking about getting to gender equity from different perspectives (check out the speakers here); live streams from panels at 50/50 Day events around the world; and live coverage from the thousands of events, art installations, and more. Coverage will begin at 5 a.m. PT. You can watch it all live on this page or on Facebook. See the complete lineup of speakers here!

4. Facebook Live your event! Tag #GettingTo5050 and @tiffanyshlain and they’ll feature your event in the live programming!

5. Join 6 words on gender equality. What does gender balance mean to you, in six words? Write it down, take a picture, post it on social media, and watch this experiment turn into a gigantic art installation in downtown Oakland, CA. Find out more and watch the installation live.
