Applications are currently being accepted through Mar 20, 2017 for the Leadership Redding 2017-2018 program year starting fall 2017.
“At Leadership Redding, we believe that a vibrant, caring community is the result of an active, engaged citizenry. Through education and encouragement to action, Leadership Redding provides individuals with an opportunity to develop as community leaders by connecting them to the people, places, and experiences of the Greater Redding region.”
Leadership Redding is a non-profit organization comprised of roughly 800 alumni, 17 voluntary steering committee members, and operates under the Shasta Regional Community Foundation.
Each year LR selects applicants from different businesses and organizations to create a diverse class that represent the various aspects of our community. The program begins in September with an orientation, weekend team-building workshop and 10 monthly education days that cover many topics about our community: local heritage, government, public safety, social issues, health & wellness, education, arts, culture, communications, economic development, environment, recreation, and vision and stewardship.
If you think you might benefit from this educational program and connection to others, and desire to improve the quality of life in the greater Redding region through civic and community involvement, then we highly encourage you to apply.
The deadline to apply for the 2017-2018 class year is 5 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2017. Cost for the program is: $25 to apply and $700 for tuition. LR also provides a few partial scholarships for class members needing assistance.
