The Network of Spiritual Progressives (NSP) will be presenting Spiritual Activism Training: Strategies in the Age of Trump starting January 4, 2017 through February 12.2017, both online and in person in Berkeley CA. You can learn more and register for the training here.

You can choose to register for either Wednesdays or Sundays. The trainings are 4 sessions and will meet once a week starting Wednesdays from 2-4 p.m. PST and on Sundays from 2-4 p.m. beginning January 8th.

  • Session 1 – Building a Beloved Community and Understanding the NSP
  • Session 2 – Spiritual Leadership, Grieving and Surplus
  • Session 3 – The Problem with Global Capitalism and Two Solutions
  • Session 4 – Empathy – Love the Stranger as Thyself

“The training addresses the psycho-spiritual suffering that people experience in their lives and in our society, how that shaped the 2016 election and the coming years under a Trump presidency, and how we can transform our society to be more loving and just.

It has modules with readings, recordings, and exercises that provide the tools and skills you need to build a local NSP chapter, bring the New Bottom Line, the Environmental & Social Responsibility Amendment (ESRA) and Global Marshal Plan (GMP) to our communities, organizations, and workplaces, and to be a spiritual change agent.

It will provide a foundation for engaging with NSP’s work and vision that is critical to make long-term engagement possible and to build an effective beloved and committed community to take this work into the world!

“We believe that the kind of movement we can build together will be effective in helping our society overcome the Trump-ism that will be ruling from Washington, D.C.” say leader Cat Zavis.

The cost is $50 for NSP members and $65 for non-members. Sliding scale (suggested $40-20) is available for those who could not otherwise afford to attend.  Each session will last two hours. They also are offering the option of purchasing recordings after the training is complete.

For those interested in bringing the vision and proposals of the NSP to your faith communities, activist circles, social change organizations, workplaces, professions, etc., this training is a critical first step in helping you have the tools and skills you need to do so. Cat will provide support along the way.
