Winterfest Redding


Winterfest Redding 2016-17 kick-off and tree lighting will be held Friday, December 2, 2016 from 5-7:30 p.m. at The Atrium in downtown Redding CA. Come enjoy a family friendly environment, complete with entertainment, goodies, raffle, Santa Claus and the official tree lighting ceremony. There is no cost to attend.

Here’s the schedule for Friday:

5:00 p.m. – Music Performance – Alldrin Family Music
5:30 p.m. – Dance Performance – Redding Ballet
6:00 p.m. – Music Performance – George Fredson & Players
6:30 p.m. – Announcements & raffle prize drawing
6:45 p.m. – South County Youth Arts Chamber carolers will lead guests to the tree
7:00 p.m. – Tree Lighting
7:30 p.m. – Conclusion
There are three anchor events during Winterfest: The Kick-Off on Friday, December 2, 2016; the Cultural Cruise January 27-28, 2017; and Hops & Shops in February 2017.

Organizations offering events during the months of December 2016, January & February 2017 will give away tickets, classes, artwork and other prizes during the event. Everyone who attends receives a FREE raffle ticket and others will be available for purchase. All monies raised go to art classes for CASA children throughout the year.

Organizations offering tickets to events, t-shirts, artwork and more include: ArtsMart Boutique, Axiom Repertory Theatre, CASA, Cascade Theatre, Harris Studios, North Valley Art League, Riverfront Playhouse, Redding City Ballet, Shasta Co. Office of Ed. Early Childhood Investigation Team, Shasta County Arts Council, Shasta Historical Society, South Shasta County Youth Arts Chamber carolers, Turtle Bay Exploration Park and United Way of Northern California.

“We are excited to be offering the third year of WinterfestRedding” said organizer Debra Lucero of Shasta County Arts Council. “The idea is to bring attention and awareness to the multitude of winter activities offered in Redding and surrounding area.” Lucero said VisitRedding is a partner in the venture as is VIVA Downtown. “People are amazed at the amount of arts, culture and recreational events we have to offer in Redding,” Lucero said. “We need to give people a reason to come to the ‘True North of California‘ and WinterfestRedding could be one of them.”
