The Oaksong Society For Preservation Of Way Cool Music (aka, The Oaksong Music Society) is presenting Marley’s Ghost on Friday, November 4, 2016 at 8 p.m. at Pilgrim Church, 2850 Foothill Blvd., Redding, CA.
Enjoy an evening of Americana music, combining the best elements of roots, gospel, country, reggae and R&B. This will be Oaksong’s last show of 2016, but they’ll be back in January 2017 with lots more!
Last appearing in Redding in 2014, Marley’s Ghost returns in the wake of releasing The Woodstock Sessions, a project helmed by Grammy Award winning producer Larry Campbell. Known for his artful work with Levon Helm and Bob Dylan, among countless others, Campbell guides the Ghost’s dig into its garden of deep roots to uncover a host of hidden gems. Featuring its trademark multi-part harmonies and multi-instrumental skills, the band’s 11th album is a resonant road trip through America’s past set firmly in the present.
Marley’s Ghost’s albums have featured guest performances by a wide range of musical luminaries, including Emmylou Harris, John Prine, Old Crow Medicine Show, Marty Stuart, Larry Campbell, Byron House and Don Heffington. Through the years, played at every major festival and music hall in the nation, and have attained a cult-like following drawn by their diverse musical talent and their freewheeling shows.
For a great evening of music that draws on everything from country to reggae, English folk to gospel, rhythm and blues to Scottish bag pipe tunes, catch Marley’s Ghost at the Pilgrim Church.
