Trinity Alps Chamber Music will perform East Meets West (music of Prokofiev, Shostakovich, Dvorak, and Alisa Rose) on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Pilgrim Congregational Church, 2850 Foothill Blvd., Redding, CA.

This final 2016 Festival concert in Redding will feature the RossoRose violin/piano duo, Amy Zanrosso and Alisa Rose, joined by cellist Elizabeth Vandervennet.

The ensemble will perform Russian works by Sergei Prokofiev and Dmitri Shostakovich, Antonin Dvorak’s elegiac and folksy “Dumky Trio”, and a world-premiere of “Piano Trio for Luisa”, a commission by Michael Cogan of Redding, one of the music festival’s sponsors.

“As if the high level of performances were not enough of a draw, the festival has cultivated a special relationship with audiences through its storytelling. Musicians always speak from the stage, sharing thoughts about the composers, the history of this music, and their own experiences playing it. Altogether this brings the true atmosphere of chamber music to each concert – true classical elegance and virtuosity, blended with friendly intimacy and beautiful California settings.”
