WORK break is a meet-up on the first Friday of every month from 8:30 – 10 a.m. at 1327 Tehama Street, Redding CA, where young, creative people meet to share dreams, collaborations, and create community.
WORK was launched June 25, 2016 by Sidney Morgan and Melissa Jones. You can use the space there for a day; for a meeting; join the collective; or make it your new work headquarters.
“WORK break is open to anyone in the community, where we chat, have honest conversations, and learn a bit together. We want to build the creative community in Redding and have created a great space for that to happen. This meeting is intentional, but different than other networking and business-card-filled meetings of the past. Show up, be true to you, and meet other creatives. Whether photography, web, music, flowers, design, or fashion is your thing, this meetup is centered on ideas and topics that apply to the creative field as a whole.”
The August topic was #ThisIsRedding, where Erika Eliante, owner of Cupcakes for the Kingdom spoke about how to stay true to your aesthetic and have your work evolve with paying, raving, local clientele. This month’s gathering was sponsored by Parade Around Town (yes, a food truck!) They provided complimentary nitro cold brew for everyone. Specialty drinks and breakfast treats were available for purchase.
Next gathering is September 9, 2016. Watch for a notice on their Facebook event page.
