Arts Advocacy

As the embedded YouTube video in this post proclaims, “The arts are the infrastructure of our culture. Our highway of the spirit. They take us to unexpected places. The challenge the best in us. They help us to move forward.”

Arts Advocacy Days (March 7-8, 2016) in Washington DC is hosted by Americans for the Arts in partnership with over 85 national arts organizations.

Arts Advocacy Day brings together a broad cross-section of America’s cultural and civic organizations, along with more than 500 grassroots advocates from across the country, to underscore the importance of developing strong public policies and appropriating increased public funding for the arts.

Arts advocates from across the country come to Washington, DC to meet with their members of Congress to garner support for issues like arts education policy, the charitable tax deduction, and funding for the National Endowment for the Arts.
