It’s Up To Me

Robert H. Schuller died yesterday at the age of 88. I met him 18 years ago, while he was still at the peak of his career as creator of the Crystal Cathedral in Anaheim CA and promulgator of possibility thinking on the television show Hour of Power.

74321481-SLD-001-0026He was an extraordinary man of a vision who brought inspiration and hope to those reluctant to enter the doors of a church.

He was non-controversial in the pulpit, choosing instead to bring out positive emotions of love, joy, peace, kindness, gentleness, goodness, faith, hope, humor, aspiration, trust, respect, self-confidence, enthusiasm, ambition, courage and optimism.

In the face of struggle and adversity he still challenges us “if it’s going to be, it’s up to me.”
