North State Symphony Concert

Conductor Scott Seaton

North State Symphony is having it’s “Discover” concert on Sunday, February, 22, 2015 at 2 PM at the Cascade Theatre, 1733 Market Street, Redding, CA.

The program features guest soloist Lindsay Deutsch on violin
 and includes:

  • Mendelssohn: Overture to Midsummer Night’s Dream
  • Bruch: Violin Concerto No. 1 in G minor, op. 26
  • Dvorak: Symphony No. 7

Guest conductor Scott Seaton is the third candidate being interviewed to replace Kevin Wiley-Picket. “Conductor Scott Seaton is in increasing demand on the international level. He has been praised as a conductor with “finesse, clarity, and precision” by the Luxembourg Times and has left audiences “breathless” according to Entertainment News Northwest.”

“Seaton is beginning his third season as Music Director of the Minot (North Dakota Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, he serves as Assistant Conductor of Festival Opera (Walnut Creek, California). . He has also held posts with the numerous community and collegiate orchestras, has conducted orchestras, at festivals and conducting competitions in North America, South America, and Europe
Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, Seaton has earned degrees from the Université de Montréal, the New England Conservatory, and the Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University.”
