We support The Women’s Fund of the Shasta Regional Community Foundation because:

  • In Shasta County 47% of single mothers with children under the age of 5 live in poverty.
  • Substantiated child maltreatment in Shasta is more than twice the California state rate.
  • 80% of children who live in a home with domestic violence see it.
  • The Women’s Fund has provided a total of $95,000 in grant funds to Redding area non-profits to benefit women and their families from 2010-2013.

The Women’s Fund “mobilizes the power of women through collective philanthropy using a strategy of education, grant-making and endowment building to create a better future for women and their families in the Redding area.”

Since 2009, The Women’s Fund has made it their purpose to:

  • Build a vibrant and engaged membership committed to improving women’s lives and children’s futures.
  • Inspire women to make a difference through collective giving.
  • Raise community awareness of issues affecting women and families.
  • Improve long-term opportunities for women and families through annual grant making.
  • Grow a permanent endowment to support grant making and community forums.

The Women’s Fund should not be confused with One Safe Place, a separate organization that The Women’s Fund also supports.

We encourage you to join The Women’s Fund and Dontate Now.
