Alternative Christmas Faire

An Alternative Christmas Faire will be held on December 4, 2011, from 1-4 PM at the First United Methodist Church, South and East Street in Redding, CA.

The “alternative” in this Gift Faire refers to choosing to support an organization as a gift for someone, thus helping that organization continue doing the great work they do all year long in our community as well as globally. It is a wonderful way to move your holiday purchasing towards gifts that will keep on giving long after the holidays are over!

The 6th annual Alternative Christmas Gift Faire is back and bigger than ever. Over the past 5 years, this annual event has raised over $33,000 for local and global organizations!

This year’s event features a wider variety of booths representing various local and world-wide non-profit agencies. There will be over 20 different booths including donation gift cards and gift items from local and world-wide non-profit organizations; fair trade artisan handcrafts, chocolates, teas and coffees from around the world.

This fun event also features a special young children’s craft area (free)where kids can make their own gifts while you shop.  And for all other ages, once again there will be several (free) Make-it/Take-it crafts (including freshwreath making) just waiting for you to enjoy.

To keep everyone in the holiday spirit, the event will also feature roaming carolers, including members of the Foothill Choir.

Encourage your friends and neighbors to kick off the holiday season by spending the afternoon at the only place in town where you can shop, make gifts, listen to great holiday music, snack on delicious refreshments AND help make our world a better place!!

Admission is $2 per person with children 12 and under free and includes refreshments, holiday music and a supervised young children’s craft area. This is not a church fundraiser – the admission fee covers the cost of the event.
