People of Progress has served Shasta County for 39 years with a food bank and resource center, providing emergency clothing, blankets/diapers/personal hygiene items, post-disaster assistance, voice mail, rent assistance, emergency shelter, emergency casework/information/referrals, community resource guides, homeless survey information, and they lead and/or participates in many collaborative efforts.
POP serves 16,000 people each year with food for 240,000 meals, 8,000 clothing items, 1,800 bus passes, 500 blankets, 500+ voicemail boxes and other essential items.
People of Progress works in conjunction with other councils:
City of Redding Shasta County Homeless Continuum of Care Council - This is a regional-based organization comprised of service providers, developers, governmental entities and leaders, faith-based organizations and community members dedicated to end homelessness.
